Mercy Community is pleased to announce that, after a careful selection process, in October 2024, Mercy Community will be transitioning:
- its Supported Independent Living (SIL) services to Achieve Australia (Achieve)
- the management of its disability accommodation to Inclusive Housing Australia (IHA).
Achieve has been providing quality care and disability support services for more than 70 years. A not-for-profit organisation, Achieve champions social inclusion and expert person-centred support services for people with disability.
IHA is an established Specialist Accommodation Provider (SDA) of quality housing creating innovative accommodation options that better connect people with disability to their communities.
Both Achieve and IHA are registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) providers.
Mercy Community Chief Executive Officer, Justin Lorenz, said after an extensive tender process, Achieve and IHA were found to be the natural fit for our SIL and disability accommodation services, as their values strongly align with ours.
“Achieve and IHA will ensure transitioning participants will continue to receive the continuity of care they are accustomed to — from the same carer, in the same home.
“I am confident that our staff and participants are in safe hands, and on behalf of Mercy Community, our Board and Executive, I wish Achieve and IHA all the best, to continue our legacy of care into the future,” he said.
