Delivering care and support to older persons, living in the community, to maximise their independence and to help them to remain living at home.
Purpose
The Mercy Community, Rockhampton Social Support Group provides community participation and inclusion through structured, group-based activities that develops and supports independent living with social interaction.
Activities are designed to encourage friendships and connections and reduce social isolation.
Who can come to the centre?
While everyone eligible is welcome at our centre, admission is dependent upon your government eligibility or My Aged Care assessment. Feel free to enquire for more information regarding your specific circumstances
Service delivery
Mercy Community, Aged Care Services aims to meet the needs of each individual client during their time at our centre. We also provide support services, which meet the needs of all consumers and carers involved with our centre.

Service delivery
Mercy Community, Aged Care Services aims to meet the needs of each individual client during their time at our centre. We also provide support services, which meet the needs of all consumers and carers involved with our centre.
Our services include:
- Pick up and drop off to your door (with wheelchair access) within Rockhampton city limits
- Morning tea and lunch
- Programs based on individual choice
- Concerts and musical activities
- Gardening
- Exercise sessions
- Craft
- Cards, board games and bingo
- Movies
- Tech savvy sessions
Who can refer clients to the centre?
The Centre accepts referrals directly or through My Aged Care. All clients needs are assessed before commencing their attendance at The Centre. Interested clients should contact My Aged Care at 1800 200 422.
How much does it cost?
Services are accessible through a range of funding supports, including private health, Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC), NDIS, fee for-service (FFS) or brokered arrangements.
