Mercy Community is a provider of Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY), a transformative two-year journey designed to empower families with children aged 3-4 years in the Warwick (Southern Downs) area.
What is HIPPY?
HIPPY is a unique home-based early learning and parenting program that empowers parents to become their child’s first teacher, laying a strong foundation for their educational journey.
Through regular visits from dedicated Home Tutors and participation in parent Gatherings, families embark on a collaborative learning adventure within the comfort of their own home.

The Tutor Journey
HIPPY doesn’t just benefit children and families—it also transforms the lives of our dedicated Home Tutors. Many HIPPY Tutors go on to pursue further studies or employment opportunities after completing the program. As a HIPPY Tutor, you’ll receive:
- Part-time employment over two years.
- On-the-job training and support from a HIPPY Coordinator.
- Deepened understanding of child development and early childhood education.
