Early Intervention Youth Counselling

Support for young people exhibiting sexually harmful behaviours.

The Youth Sexual Violence and Abuse (YSVA) program, funded by the Queensland Government Department of Justice and Attorney General, offers trauma-informed, developmentally sensitive, and culturally safe counselling and support to children and young individuals aged 10-17.

About the YSVA program:

Service Area

We provide services for young people residing in the Toowoomba area.

Targeted Age Group

Our program caters to 10–17-year-olds exhibiting sexually harmful behaviours, including problem sexual behaviour.

Educational Support

Providing information to young individuals to enhance their awareness and understanding of sexual violence is a key component of our program.

Priority on Safety

Ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young individuals who have experienced sexual abuse or are at risk of sexual abuse is our top priority.

Network Engagement

We facilitate children and young individuals’ engagement with other support services and safe individuals within their support network.

Risk Assessment and Planning

Individual risk assessments and safety planning is facilitated with parents to protect other children or young individuals from harm.

Family Support

We can work with safe and supportive family members/caregivers to enhance their capacity in supporting children and young individuals to develop respectful and healthy sexual boundaries and attitudes.

YSVA Program Details

Our program offers free weekly one-hour counselling appointments for up to 26 sessions.
