Last week residents of our residential aged care community at Nudgee had the first of two AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine shots issued onsite.
This is part of the Australian Government’s priority rollout of the vaccine where all aged care and disability care residents are first in line (part of Phase 1a of the rollout). Aged care and disability care staff are also included in this stage.
We spoke briefly with two residents about receiving the vaccine.
Russell Zurvas (pictured) was happy for us to capture the moment with a quick picture.
Marjorie Power credited the event’s success to staff.
“How could you not be healthy in a place like this—it is just wonderful,” said Marjorie.
A huge thank you to the Mercy Community support staff who prepared the facilities and residents for their vaccination, and for their follow up support.
