This morning we were relieved to hear the news that the lockdown for Queensland will be lifted from 12 noon today, and applaud the response of Queenslanders in coming forward to get tested.
This news is tinged with a little disappointment, knowing that the restrictions will remain in place up until 15 April 2021 for aged care and disability care, and some Easter plans will need to be cancelled. That said, we fully support this decision, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and wellbeing for the most vulnerable members of our community is our number one priority.
Ways to stay in touch remotely
With this in mind, we’d like to remind everyone that there are still ways to connect with friends and family during lockdown. We understand what a special time Easter is for many families, so please remember that you can keep in touch and stay connected by:
- phone calls
- video calls
- social communication apps such as Skype sessions
- sending a postcard
- sharing photos, artwork or short home videos.
Face-to-face Skype sessions for Aged Care residents
