At Mercy Community, we recognise that every family faces their own set of challenges. That’s why we’re here to offer comprehensive support through our Family and Relationship Services (FaRS). Our goal is simple: to strengthen family bonds, prevent breakdowns, and ensure the well-being and safety of every member, especially children.
What We Offer
Prevention and Early Intervention
Our services focus on providing timely support to families, couples, children, and individuals to address issues before they escalate.
Accessibility
We are committed to being accessible to all types of families at critical transition points, including formation, extension, and separation.
Support for Various Situations
FaRS is here for couples forming long-term relationships, families experiencing relationship issues or breakdowns, families with children at risk of abuse or neglect, and those facing disadvantage or vulnerability.
Domestic Family Violence Support
We provide early intervention assistance to individuals, couples, and families experiencing or at risk of family or domestic violence, offering a safe space for healing and empowerment.

Program Specifics:
We provide support services to families at any stage in a family relationship.
Our range of services include:
- Intake and assessment
- Information/advice/referral
- Education and skill training
- Counselling (individual adults, couples and family)
- Community capacity building
- Family capacity building
Cost and Accessibility:
While FaRS may charge fees on a sliding scale based on income, we understand that financial difficulties shouldn’t be a barrier to receiving support.
If you’re a concession holder or facing financial hardship, we offer services for free. Speak with your counsellor for more information.
