At Mercy Community, we respect your dignity and individuality.
Loreto Nursing Home was established close to Saint Patrick’s Convent, The Strand (the original Townsville residence of the Sisters of Mercy) to accommodate ageing and frail sisters. In 2009, it was rebuilt as a new facility, offering an intimate atmosphere with individualised care.
Loreto provides aged care services with a strong emphasis on personalised care, aiming to enhance the lifestyles and health outcomes of our residents in an intimate and homely setting. Our small nursing home offers single rooms with ensuites, adding a distinctive touch to the Loreto experience.
Our team consists of compassionate professionals, including nursing, personal care, and therapy staff, who are dedicated to creating a warm and supportive environment for our residents.
Loreto also offers Allied Health services, yoga, tai chi, music and pet therapy.

Our focus is on you every step of the way. That’s demonstrated by the customised meals that cater to your tastes and by the daily activities and outings we plan to match your interests.
We understand that life changes day by day and week by week, so we’ll regularly assess your care plan and adapt your care as your needs change.
