Chief People Officer
Adam Priest is an experienced people, culture and organisational leader with more than 20 years’ senior leadership experience across the health, aged care and community sectors.
Trained initially in industrial relations before becoming a registered nurse, Adam has built a diverse career spanning clinical practice, operational leadership, workplace health and safety, and senior people and culture roles. This breadth of experience has shaped his strong understanding of the connection between people, organisational culture, service delivery and sustainable business performance.
Adam is passionate about building contemporary, high-performing workplaces where people are trusted, supported and empowered to make a meaningful contribution. He has a strong interest in workforce strategy, organisational transformation and the use of technology and data to improve workforce planning, employee experience, efficiency and decision-making.
A people-centred and values-driven leader, Adam believes an organisation’s people and culture are fundamental to translating strategy into meaningful outcomes for the people and communities it serves. He advocates for workplaces built on respect, trust and open communication, where employees have opportunities to grow, exercise autonomy and contribute to continuous improvement.
As Chief People Officer, Adam is focused on strengthening Mercy Community’s workforce and organisational capability, supporting its leaders and people through change, and building a contemporary people and culture strategy that enables Mercy Community to deliver on its mission and continue making a positive difference across Queensland.
